The trail starts at the top of North Upper Sabino Canyon Road. It immediately starts with switchbacks providing a view through the canyon overlooking the city. After reaching the top of the switchbacks, the trail joins the Phoneline Trail and stick to the left to continue on Sabino Creek Trail. The trail levels out curves back and forth following the contour of the hills. It drops down to join the East Fork and West Fork Trail.
