Point to Point
There is a large wooden sign saying "Woodlands Trail" and a small parking area at the trailhead. The trail is relatively flat and features many small canals where one can see swamp animals including gators, wild hogs, armadillo, and many birds. Along the way, visitors can pass by abandoned WWII ammunitions bunkers that are very cool to see. These bunkers are located about half way down the trail.
The trail is also open to horse use, so give the right of way to riders, and avoid stepping in horse droppings. Make sure you bring some bug spray in the summer!
All Clear
If you live in New Orleans and don't know about this trail check it out. it's beautiful dry Cypress Forest with little underbrush, when it's dry the deer come to the main bayou to drink. I see them on almost every hike during the summer months. Long enough to feel like a real hike. Probably the best trail within 2hrs of the City. BRING BUG SPRAY.
