From the trailhead, head up Deviney Lane to the second trail that goes out to the left. Turning off the paved road onto the doubletrack leads across the prairie to a fork with a bench. Take the fork to the left to stay on the Valley View Trail.
Staying on doubletrack the whole way, the Valley View Trail goes right to the end of the preserve line and is marked with a sign. Reverse to return to the trailhead.
