Although the trail is relatively flat, I gave it an intermediate difficulty rating. There are quite a few sections filled with stones, which not only slows you down, but is also hard on your ankles and could be dangerous without trekking poles.
The trail is very well marked with blue dots, and if you don't want to hike the full 18 miles, you can make shortcuts in many places.
The highest elevation is reached at the northeast part of the trail, and you'll be rewarded with some great views. The forest varies from dense to open, and you'll pass a couple of beautiful ponds. Especially on the western part of the trail, you'll follow and cross nice trout-filled mountain streams.
