Description
There is a sign for the Cockermouth Forest, but it can only be seen if you're heading north on North Groton Road. There is a narrow road on the right, just in front of the sign, that descends to a small parking area (on the left). This parking area is small and only holds a few vehicles; please don't park in front of the gate. The trail/road passes behind a closed Forest Society gate, crosses a bridge, then turns right to a kiosk. Here, there is a wooden map of the property. From what I could tell: yellow trails are singletrack and red trails are doubletrack. In 0.4 miles, Old North Groton Road will be on the right. At 0.9 miles, Eliza Remick Road will be on the right. From the map, it appears that this trail ends where it turns back to singletrack.
