Dry Creek

This action-packed trail drops from the Boise Ridge Road all the way to a small parking pullout on Bogus Basin Road. It contains an excellent drop down the Dry Creek Canyon, with numerous creek crossings that you can do the wet way (dry creek is typically not dry), or use the log bridges across. The other great thing is that for some reason the trees extend about 2,000 feet lower than on most other local trails, providing shade and making this an excellent choice on a hotter day. This trail loops very well with Shingle Creek. From Bogus Basin Road, heading up Shingle Creek and down Dry Creek makes almost a perfect half marathon. Up or down, it's a classic, go hike it!
