Description
From the Maple Hollow Trailhead, this trail heads to the west, following briefly the route for the Maple Hollow Downhill (downhill, mountain bike only) trail, but quickly splits off, becoming its own trail. This trail mostly stays in short maple forests, which means it has plenty of shade most of the way, and is also on the north-facing side of the Traverse Mountains, which generally makes it one of the better trails for afternoon hikes in the summer. The trail has a few long switchbacks on the descent toward Ann's Trail, and almost parallels it at times, but eventually comes out after a little over a mile right onto Ann's Trail. This can be a great trail for some nice fall colors if the conditions have been right during the fall.
