Description
The Duck Pass Trail to Purple Lake is a 16-mile out-and-back trail located outside of Mammoth Lakes, California. This scenic adventure features pristine alpine lakes, expansive views, and interesting geologic features. With tons of nearby lakes and trails this area is a popular recreation destination for trail runners, hikers, and backpackers. This moderately trafficked route gains approximately 4,700 feet of elevation throughout its length. Starting from the Duck Pass Trailhead the trail begins with an exposed ascent towards Arrowhead Lake. The trail crosses up and over Duck Pass and traverses along the western shores of Duck Lake.
