Sakatah Singing Hills Trail is a very popular trail that was developed over an old railroad line. It is a multi-use, paved trail that is suitable for many recreational activities including hiking, walking, running, horseback riding, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling, depending on seasonal conditions. It has multiple access points and rest stops along its route from Mankato to Faribault. The trail also runs through Sakatah Lake State Park.
Sakatah Singing Hills Trail takes users through prairie, farmland, forest, and near lakes and rivers. There is a lot of diversity along the route. The portion that runs through Sakatah Lake State Park is particularly beautiful, shaded, and cool in the summer.
