Point to Point
This trail begins at Hazard Canyon Road to the north and terminates at Islay Creek Road in the south. It can be accessed by hiking up Hazard Canyon Road, Islay Creek Road, or Hazard Peak Trail.
If hiking from Hazard Canyon, take a right onto the trail and continue left at the intersection with Hazard Peak Trail. If hiking from Hazard Peak Trail, keep right when that trail terminates and comes to a T intersection with East Boundary Trail. From here, keep left at the intersection with Barranca Trail. These intersections are well signed.
The trail runs up and over a small ridgeline with moderate grades. This section of trail is flowy, well-graded, well-maintained singletrack made for mountain bikers. At the top of the ridge, you'll see a trail tool station...from here the trail turns into a steep downhill that is severely rutted due to MTB usage and recent heavy rains. It is technical on a dry day and almost impossible after a rain--a real ankle breaker. Still, the technicality is part of what makes this a worthy trail.
