Jordan Pond is famous for the Jordan Pond House, which serves popovers and tea on the pond's southern shore, but that's not the only way to enjoy this beautiful area. The Jordan Pond Path loops around the entire pond, offering terrific views of the surrounding mountains. It's also a great way to work up an appetite! Start the trail near the Jordan Pond House and follow it counter-clockwise around the pond. Soon you'll be treated to dramatic views of The Bubbles, two glacially sculpted mountains at the northern end of Jordan Pond. Continue along the trail, and you'll reach the northern end of the pond, where you'll cross over several wooden bridges. From here the trail loops back along the pond's western shore. This section of trail is slightly more rugged than the trail along the eastern shore. Be prepared to scramble over some rocky sections and work your way along some elevated boardwalks. By the time you reach the Jordan Pond House, you'll be ready for popovers! Thanks to guidebook author and photographer, James Kaiser, for sharing this trail description.
