Description
Meandering around the open meadow on the west side of Creve Coeur Lake, the Meadow Loop is a 2.8-mile paved path. The trailhead with the easiest access to the trail shares a parking lot with the Gateway Sports Athletic Fields. There are amenities such as drinking water and modern restrooms available at the trailhead. Taking the trail in a counter clockwise direction, visitors will first parallel Creve Coeur Mill Road. Youll notice that the trail follows higher ground in this section, thanks in part to the dredging activities of 1980. The trail continues on, passing the non-profit Forest Relief of Missouri along the way. The path will then pass under Page Avenue, and intersect the Lakeview Trail. Carrying on the Meadows Loop Trail, youll have another 1.3 miles of scenic lakeshore to follow. Views of the lake and its seasonal inhabitants abound! Eventually, visitors will take a sharp turn to the south to return to the parking area.
