Loop
The hike to Terrace Pond has always been popular due to swimming and cliff jumping into the pond. However, currently, the trailhead usually has a park ranger warning people that swimming in prohibited and on weekends will have a few rangers at the pond. The loop has never beenpopular so you will encounter few people after the pond. The trailhead is across the street from the parking area. I hiked in a clockwise direction. The beginning and end of this loop may be muddy or have standing water on the trail after heavy rain. Turn left at the trail signage and follow the yellow markers about .65 miles to a powerline clearing. Turn right and follow for a short distance up steep rocky terrain. The trail turn right again into the forrest. It is all uphill until you reach the pond. Some areas require hands to ascend the rocky outcroppings but a easy. There are nice viewpoints over looking the pond from the top. Continue right with the pond on your left. Soon you will enter the forrest again for some easier terrain. Follow for 1.1 miles until you reach a swamp area. Through that and the trail make a hard right onto a forrest road. From the forrest road, it is 1.75 miles back to the trailhead. This loop stays on a trail with yellow markers the entire distance.
All Clear
