This trail branches off the east side of the Swank Trail, at a junction marked by a 40-foot pillar of rock. The eastward trail begins as a nice singletrack but then the climb, which is fairly steep, is a bit eroded with poor traction. Once atop the ridge it returns to a beautiful trail with nice views and intersects, at the 1 mile mark, with Sundance Valley Trail. That intersection is easy to miss, marked only by a set of dead branches leaning against a tree in a teepee shape. The trail then continues eastward before turning south and finishing on top of Sundance Mountain.
