Description
San Jacinto via Black Mountain Truck Trail is a 29.7-mile out-and-back located near Idyllwild, California. The route starts from scenic Highway 243, climbs up the Black Mountain Truck Trail, crosses Fuller Ridge, and continues to ascend via the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) to the top of San Jacinto Peak (10,834'), the second tallest peak in Southern California. This strenuous route passes through old growth pine forest and features scenic views of granite cliffs, lush mountainsides, and alpine meadows. The route is popular for runners, hikers, and backpackers alike and can be completed in one day or overnight. Wilderness permits are required for day and overnight use. PERMITS AND CAMPINGPermits are required for both day and overnight use.
