Colorado Trail: Segment 13 is a 22.6-mile point-to-point segment of the Colorado Trail that runs from the Silver Creek Trailhead to the Chalk Creek Trailhead. This segment begins with a steep climb up to the Collegiate Peaks Wilderness and then onto a scenic saddle along Mount Yale's east ridge. After leaving the wilderness, it contours around the base of Mount Princeton. There are scenic vistas, opportunities for peak bagging, and Princeton Hot Springs, where you can take a relaxing dip. The Colorado Trail is a long distance trail that spans 485 miles from Denver to Durango traversing through the Colorado Rocky Mountains. A majority of the trail is located at a high altitude, with an average elevation of 10,000 feet.
