The trails in this beautiful recreation area follow a pretty river. They're used predominately in the winter for skiing and snowshoeing, but are still wonderful for hiking when there isn't much snow. Pets are allowed on trails (except for groomed trails during cross-country ski season). The trails are incredibly well-marked with a map at each intersection. Some muddy trails can exist and there aren't any views. On the southernmost part of the hike, you venture outside of the park into the adjacent State Forest for ~one mile and they recommend bright orange gear for this. There is a nice lake for summer activities and a number of cabins and campsites in the area as well if you'd like an extended stay.
