Description
This trail is a the largest single loop within the Carpenter Park recreational area. I start the trail from the parking lot near the tennis courts & skate park. The trail can be a bit noisy along 112th Ave, and especially for the portion where the trail follows along Colorado Blvd. There are two gravel sections in the loop, and these can be muddy after a snow melts or following a good rain. There are many alternate paved trails in the area if you want to avoid the muddy portions, or if you'd like to add mileage onto your outing. Taking a detour onto Loop 4 creates a figure 8 around the lakes, and allows visitors to cover most of the park. The paved portions of the path are plowed in the winter, which makes this a fun trail in any weather.
