Description
The Davis Ponds Trail is a loop around the lower section of the Staunton State Park that follows the entrance road and parking lots. There is only 100 ft of elevation change, and it is great for an easy hike for one step more difficult than pavement. I was able to hike flat foot the whole time. The path is wide, crushed rock the entire way and even in the rain, there was zero mud. There were TONS of deer along the trail. They seem to hang out all day, and I have seen them every time I go on this trail. There is an excellent view of Lion's Head from between the two ponds.
