Dude Abides

This tough two-way connector links the North Backbone and Pauli (at CR #173). Opened in late 2017, the trail will appeal to hikers that want to connect from the intermediate level North Backbone experience to the trails further up the hill, like Upper Sand Dunes, Pauli, and Uncle Nazty. Dude Abides provides a tough singletrack climb as an alternate to the loose doubletrack option of CR #173. This trail is commonly used by descending mountain bikers, so be sure to keep your eyes and ears open. This trail was constructed by Singletrack Trails, for Salida Mountain Trails.
