This is a winding singletrack trail beginning from the Pingree Park Road. There isn't a lot of parking along the road, so arrive early. The trail is fairly flat for the first 2 miles, but the grade gets fairly steep about 3 miles in.
About 4 miles in, visitors will come upon a feature called the Spire, a large granite tower that appears on your right. This is a great rest opportunity before the last push to the top. The last 1.5 miles are very steep, and the trail can be hard to follow due to treefall. Look for cairns to guide you around the treefall.
Once above treeline, follow the cairns to the top. Look for the PVC tube with the summit register and be on the lookout for marmots, as they would like to sample any snacks that you brought with you.
