Weir Canyon Loop Trail

Although this trail doesn't boast amazing vistas like other hikes, there are a few nice views of Orange County from the western wall of Weir Canyon. Further from the freeways and power lines of other parts of the Anaheim Hills, Weir Canyon Loop feels more peaceful and is favored by those looking for a relaxing hike in an area that is a little more remote.From the trailhead at the corner of East Overlook Terrace and South Hidden Canyon Road head east onto Weir Canyon Trail. There are several junctions on this trail, but stay on the main path which ascends and descends several small hills and side canyons. At about 1.4 miles there is a junction with a trail to the right, stay straight and you'll quickly reach a second junction with a trail off to the left. Continue straight and at about 2 miles the trail U-turns and heads back west and south. At about 2.5 miles you'll pass a water tower and the trail will begin to climb. At 2.7 miles you'll reach a trail junction off to the left, continue straight past it. At 3.0 miles you reach the highest point of the hike. Just after you begin to descend, take a right at the trail junction to exit onto Avenida de Santiago. Follow this to the intersection with South Hidden Canyon Road and take a left back to the trailhead.Thanks to John McKinney, The Trailmaster, for sharing this trail description.
