Point to Point
This is a trail that has been reclaimed by the Forest Service from a man who was mis-managing his private property. Specifically, he was falsely marking this trail as being within his private property boundaries. After setting the mountain-side on fire a few years ago, the Forest Service found out about this, and made him re-mark his property boundaries.
Anyhow, this trail drops off the South Hooper Ridge Trail along the gas-pipeline to the canyon bottom, then follows it up to where it re-meets the ridge trail further up. Enjoy this shady alternative. It is best done in this direction to avoid a need to ascend the steep section of the gas-pipeline.
Stay out of private property. You'll see signs that clearly mark the boundaries.
