Point to Point
You can pick up this trail near the Matapeake Pier on the north end or the Romancoke Pier on the south end. There's parking at both ends of the trail. In between the trail is a nice open paved trail that's more exposed than the Cross Island Trail. These two trails don't have a direct connection, but you can head down along Route 8 and over the Route 50 overpass to reach both trails.
The trail is rougher than the Cross Island Trail, especially at the ends with roots and other damage to the asphalt. There are a lot of crossings, but most of them are driveways or dead end roads. You'll be along a busy road this whole trail.
Watch out for errant tee shots when you pass by Blue Heron Golf Course.
