Although this is a paved loop, only the eastern side is considered ADA accessible. The western half is narrower and potentially too steep for wheelchairs in parts.

This interpretive trail is accessible from the visitor center and is paved the entire way, ensuring it is easy going. Each sign has a slightly wider paved area so there is room for people to read about the area's history and/or pass other groups. Some benches offer places to rest along the way too.
The trail quickly enters the massive lava flow and switchbacks up to offer awesome views of Lava Butte, Mt Bachelor, Broken Top, the Sisters, and more. The snow capped mountains over the rugged black rocks that seem to barely support any plants after over 7,000 years make for a jarring juxtaposition - and great photos.
The north end of the loop intersects the Phil Brogan View Point trail which is well worth taking.
Follow the trail around to the west and south to complete a loop and then follow the trail back to the visitor's center.
