Description
The Tanyard Trail is a great mixture of different kinds of terrain and some awesome scenery. The trail definitely has its share of hills and, if it's rained, you're probably going to get wet feet as you hike through the creek that runs through the property. Primarily, this trail traverses a mix of woods and grasslands to eventually pass the old Tanyard where the Shakers made leather. One hill goes up almost two hundred feet at a fairly steep incline and will definitely get your heart pumping. After enjoying your time in Shaker Village, you can feast on a burger from the Shakertown restaurant near the trailhead.
