This leisurely trail starts from the Beehive Trail parking area. Just east of the Ocean Path is Otter Cliffs, Acadia National Park's most popular rock climbing area. Stroll out towards the edge of the rocks and you'll probably catch a glimpse of rock climbers on the steep cliffs, waves crashing directly below. Head south along the Ocean Path and take in the open views of the Gulf of Maine. Look for the Schoodic Peninsula that lies to the east and the Cranberry Isles that lie to the south. Continue along the path until it starts to curve north at Otter Point. At low tide, this is a fantastic place to look for tide pools. Keep your eyes out for intertidal creatures such as crabs, dog whelks, and sea anemones.
