Open dawn to dusk. The parking lot gate is closed during the winter, though access to the trail is allowed for rxhing, snowshoeing and skiing. Rockton Township owns and manages 15 acres of the land where the parking lot and Wildlife Overlook are located at 3714 W. Rockton Road, Rockton, IL 61072.

Park at the parking lot at 3714 W. Rockton Road, Rockton, IL 61072. The trail follows the perimeter of a large wetland full of wildlife. The first half mile or so is a mowed grass path, then the trail is paved with gravel for the next mile or so. The last mile of the trail is mowed grass surface again.
