Point to Point
There are plenty of trails with great views in Acadia, but they are mostly rated difficult and some have some very steep sections. If you're looking for great ocean views but you're afraid of heights or don't like challenging trails, Gorham Mountain is a terrific choice.
The trailhead is located at the Gorham Mountain Trail parking area, located off the Park Loop Road between Thunder Hole and Otter Cliffs. Follow the trail through the woods as it rises up Gorham Mountain. About halfway to the summit, the Cadillac Cliffs Path veers off from the trail (ultimately to rejoin it after 0.3 miles).
Continue along the main trail and the views will get better and better as you approach the bald summit. To the south are nice views of Otter Cliffs and Otter Point. To the northeast you can see Sand Beach and Great Head. After enjoying the views, continue along the trail as it heads down the northern side of Gorham Mountain and ultimately merges with the Bowl Trail.
