Inner Loop (Yellow)

Escape the heat and hustle and bustle of Fort Leavenworth with a nice hike in the woods. This mixed use trail gets less use from horses than the other trails and provides an escape for hikers and bikers. This trail through some of the last woods in the area follows the old cut roads of Kings road and Kickapoo Trail. It transitions from fields to dense old forests with lots of vegetation to see. Start at the entrance to Camp Conestoga, the local Girl Scout Camp. The trail also winds through adjoining Camp Miles, the local BSA overnight camping spot.
