Description
This trail begins at the parking area for Alsea Falls Recreation Area. The trail is wide gravel fill so the going is easy. You can begin by heading east to follow the creek for a short distance before the trail bends around to the west. Cross the trail to Green Peak Falls and continue west (this is also a short-cut from the trailhead). The trail will drop along a small switchback and then descend a few stone stairs to the river at the base of the plunge portion of the falls. When the water level is lower you can hang out on broad rocks here. The trail then continues along the river to a few more stone steps that take you to the base of the cascade portion of the falls. Here a pool can be found that makes for better wading if it's not blocked by tree-fall. Return the way you came, but consider adding on Green Peak Falls or enjoying other trails in the area.
