Description
Beaman Park is a beautiful and surprisingly uncrowded area located less than a half hour outside of downtown Nashville. The park has quite an interesting history: It was once called Paradise Ridge (named after two brothers) and was used for homesteads, farming, orchards, logging, and moonshining. The property was eventually purchased by the Metro Nashville government in 1996 and turned into the 1,688-acre park it is today. There are three main trails located in the park. The Henry Hollow Loop Trail provides the most diverse scenery and can be combined with one (or both) of the other trials to make a longer hike. The Henry Hollow Loop Trail climbs up several hills thick with hardwood trees before eventually making its way down to a stream. The remainder of the trail sees little elevation change and follows the stream as it meanders through the park. There are two trailheads off of the main entrance road to the park. Make sure to start at the Creekside Trailhead in order to hike the Henry Hollow Loop. A nature center and additional trailhead can be found at the other end of the park.
