Mesa Top

As mapped here, the trail travels in the east to west direction - this provides an additional ascent along the North Table Loop Trail while cutting out the flatter finishing section. The trail starts with a steep, rocky ascent. Just prior to arriving on the Mesa Top, there is a short waterfall which flows after heavy rains. Just after the waterfall, heading north on the Rim Rock trail provides another nice ascent which ends back on the Mesa Top trail before heading down the mesa's north side on a gravel maintenance road back to the North Table Loop trail.
