Snead Farm Loop Trail

The trail can be accessed from the parking area at the Dickey Ridge Visitor Center. Use the Dickey Ridge Visitor Center Path to head south, crossing Skyline Drive, and coming to an intersection with the Dickey Ridge Trail. Continue on the left fork for around one-tenth of a mile through an apple orchard arriving at a second fork with the Pumphouse Access Trail; keep to the right. The Snead house has been torn down, but the barn is in fairly good condition and marks the property for the homesite, around two-thirds of a mile from Skyline Drive. The road goes beyond the barn to the site of the Snead house on the right, where the remains of a wall and some steps can be seen. From the homesite, continue along the Snead Farm Loop Trail for another two-thirds of a mile until its conclusion at the Dickey Ridge Trail. Thanks to Larry W.
