Comanche peak is the northernmost peak in Rocky Mountain National Park. This trail spurs off of the Mirror Lake Trail and makes its way to the summit of Comanche Peak (12,591'). It climbs nearly 2,000 vertical feet in just over two miles, making a fairly steep and rugged trail.
Take in the views of Mirror Lake from above as you hike up the ridgeline towards the summit. At the top of the trail, make your way (scramble) through the rocks towards one of two high points. The northeastern peak is the true summit from which the views are astounding. If the vastness and beauty of your surroundings are not enough to take your breath away, the altitude will be.
