Begin at the paved parking lot for Happy Valley Park and following the trail into the woods along the flowing Yadkin River to a steel bridge near a small island. As the trails continues to curve around, it crosses over a small branch of the river and proceeds a short distance farther where it ends near the same road as the trailhead.
