Piedmont Trail

Part of the City Of Greensboro's Watershed Trail System, the Piedmont Trail can be accessed from two locations. First, from a small dirt parking lot off Lake Brandt Rd. The second access point is from the Atlantic & Yadkin Greenway about 1/4 mile south of Strawberry Rd. From the Greenway, you start in an open field that is lined with Kudzu most of the year. You may start off in the open, but you'll soon find yourself moving through a forested area. Once in the woods you'll hug the northern shore of Lake Brandt. The trail backs up into a couple neighborhoods and continues on through the back yard of a private residence. Please be respectful of homeowners, and remain on the trail. Visitors will encounter a couple of wooden bridges that cover low lying areas and there will also be bridges that span various creeks in the area. Take the time to appreciate some great views of the lake and the Lake Brandt Marina.
