Description
This is a steep horse trail that is a segment of the longer VA Highlands Horse Trail. It is the smoothest and fastest segment. This trail has ample parking at either the VA Hwy 16 side or the Hwy 601 side. Its course follows an old logging road for the entire length. The tread is primarily shale singletrack with a few doubletrack sections scattered along its length. There are several small water crossings along its length with plenty of drinking water sources to fill your water bottle (treat accordingly).
