Description
From the parking lot, start on the well-established doubletrack trail. After about half a mile, the trail takes a hard left towards Three Sisters Falls. Continue directly ahead on the fainter (but still distinct) singletrack trail. Cruise along the trail going through a mixture of chaparral and some more open live oak forest. Around a mile and a half the trail seems to split (as seen here). The right turn is a cattle trail, so go left into the thicker chaparral. Shortly after, there is a spur that gives you the first dramatic looks down into the valley. Continue on more powerfully uphill and soon you are on a rocky summit that offers huge 360 degree views of the landscape around you. The trail can become a bit braided in this sparse terrain, but just keep a good look out and you'll find it again.
