Mt. Hoffman Trail

From the southern end of May Lake head left and get ready to climb for the next mile and a half. Be prepared to get blasted by the Sun, as the trail is pretty much entirely exposed. The journey up is mostly barren and rocky, with some sparse grassy coverage when nearing the peak. Just when the payoff appears imminent, you'll reach the false summit. Don't be discouraged, as the true summit lies just ahead. At the ensuing junction, head left and follow the cairns, scrambling up to incredible views of May Lake below and Clouds Rest and Half Dome to the south.
