Loop
The Fox River Trail, surfaced with crushed limestone, offers exceptional scenic and wildlife viewing opportunities. The west side of the trail passes by a nice recreation area with picnic tables and a water source, before turning east to parallel the Fox River. A little farther along is an observation area to view regional wildlife. After that, the path enters a wooded canopy as you head north back to the trailhead.
As with all the main trails at Moraine Hills, this loop is one-way traffic for hikers and bikers. So to avoid being startled by riders suddenly coming up behind you, hike against the grain.
