Description
From the trailhead you descend several hundred feet and follow the trail as it circles the West Mitten. Desert plants are plentiful and the panorama is constantly changing and beautiful. This is a desert setting so take care hiking in hot weather as there is little shade. Carrying water is always a good idea on trails in this part of the country. Other buttes and mesas are nearby and in constant view.
