Description
From the top of the gondola, go straight and descend on the Chisholm Trail for a short time to a big 4-way junction. Look for Pioneer on your left. The trail is nicely bench-cut and descends along a pretty mellow contour that leads through patches of forest and across open ski runs. After the second set of switchbacks, there's a short climb before more of the same type of side-hill trail. The trail is pretty smooth (there aren't a ton of rocks or roots to watch out for) and well graded, until the next short steep climb. After this ascent, it's all downhill, through tons of tight switchbacks. Once through these switchbacks, you'll hit a junction with Creekside and Zig Zag Connector.
