Closed December 15-April 15th for elk winter range. In the early summer, the river floods and the crossing may be tricky. Hope you have good balance to cross on the downed tree!

Point to Point
Pipeline begins at the parking lot at the top of 4th of July Road. It is basically a straight shot south from the parking lot, on a mostly straight, undulating trail. This first 2.5 miles are in an open valley where many birds and deer can be seen.
The fun really begins about 2.5 miles up the trail when you are at the true 'pipeline' section. Here the singletrack becomes a bit more challenging (but still advanced-beginner level). It runs along a little creek and in a narrow cut so you are surrounded by trees and greenery. In the fall, this hike is spectacular due to the wealth of aspen trees lining the trail.
