This is a there-and-back that ends on the Pikes Peak Toll Road (or starts from it), which means you should plan accordingly - you cannot rxh down the toll road.
Path Type
Point to Point
This trail starts off the Barr Trail at the Barr Camp just under seven miles into the Barr Trail. The trail more or less follows the topographical line around Pikes Peak (but does gain elevation too). The trail starts in the forest from the camp and heads north.
You'll pass through forests with views that occasionally open to nice views of the steep cliffs on the northern edge of Pikes Peak. Further along, you'll come to some old mines with large iron equipment still sitting and rusting. The trail ends above tree line at a major switchback on the Pikes Peak Toll Road. There is not much room for parking here so you may want to arrange for a pick up.
