**THE TRAIL BEYOND THE SUMMIT WHEN HIKED FROM THE SADDLE WILL BE CLOSED IN 2023 WHILE ROAD CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETED. PLEASE HIKE BACK TO THE SADDLE FROM THE SUMMIT. This trail is located on private property. For access one needs to be a member of High Hampton Club, a guest of a member, or a guest at the historic High Hampton Inn which is located on the property. This trail is located in a protective conservation easement managed by the Highlands Cashiers Land Trust on Behalf of High Hampton.

Sweeping mountain views abound along Rock Mountain Trail, one of our longest hikes. Ideally picked up at The Saddle and climbed to its peak, this trek features great vantage points for beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
This trail has some smooth rock sections that require a bit of rock scrambling.
There is ongoing development construction occurring in 2023 to the northeast of the summit. This construction will prevent the Rock Mountain Trail from being completed as a loop for much of 2023. Please return to the Saddle from the summit. We will update this page when the loop hike is open again.
