McDowell Dam Recreation Area

Start in the main parking lot, head north to pick up the trail as it begins to wind around the lake to the northeast. Follow the well-maintained trail around the lake. The trail passes through wooded and grassland areas. It is generally protected from the wind from being in a valley, except when hiking across the dam.
