This 3+ mile loop trail, blazed white but officially named the Mark Schaefer Trail (unfortunately no information about Mark Schaefer available online), is the main trail for the Maltby Lakes Regional Water Authority Recreation Area. Easily accessible from the main parking area, it loop primarily through forest with some unshaded grassy segments (mainly at the western end and avoided by detouring on purple.
