Description
This trail can be a continuation of the Back Bay Loop Trail. It follows the south side of the Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve. In other words, same scenery, different angle. Not as many off-road trail options on this side of the creek as the northern side. This trail is great for speed work and intervals because it is well maintained and smooth. As with the north side, be aware of cyclists. They love the trail for the same reasons.
