Loop
Takhlakh Lake Loop is an easy hike that begins and ends at Takhlakh Lake Campground. A day use fee or annual pass is required for parking. At the trailhead there is a day use area with picnic tables and grills, as well as a boat ramp for those looking to get out on the lake with their non-motorized watercraft. If traveling in a clockwise direction the loop first skirts along the eastern shores of the lake. The forest thickens as you curve around to the backside of the lake. A trail junction gives hikers the opportunity to extend this hike via the Takh Takh Meadow Trail. Otherwise, continue straight to stay on the lake loop. You'll come to another junction soon signed "fish pad." This short spur trail takes you to the water and a good fishing spot.Continuing along the loop you'll soon begin to walk past the campground. The trail passes between the lake and the campsites. This section of trail also offers some of the best views across the lake and to magnificent Mount Adams. You'll then cross over a small footbridge and reach the day use area where you first began.
